Valley Mills Farm is the dream of Monica Rutledge, who purchased the farm in 2016 and moved there with her daughter Leah all with the intended vision of making it the best wedding & event venue in the Shenandoah Valley. The farm was originally home to a mill, thus the name and Monica felt no reason to change that part of history. The venue was established in 2018. Monica used to drive by the farm often and always thought it had bounds of potential. One day the dream became reality and she purchased it!
Many thought she might’ve bitten off more than she could chew, but if you know Monica then you know that wouldn’t be the case. Countless hours were spent transforming her vision into a reality. After years of the farm wasting away without any love or attention, the first two years of Monica’s ownership were spent improving the exterior aesthetics and the sweeping views of the riverscape.
Next, came designing and building the beautiful climate-controlled event space. Every aspect of Valley Mills Farm has been carefully curated to enhance our guests’ experience at the venue. The venue is very proud to offer a serene park-like setting with multiple options for our couples to enjoy.
While enjoying your visit at Valley Mills Farm, make sure you take a moment to embrace the beautiful panoramic views, take photos with the historic manor house, and celebrate the start of your big day with your closest friends and family in the dressing cottage. Also, make sure to stop and say “Hi” to Monica and Leah as they will likely be working your event! This is her livelihood and after pouring her blood, sweat, and tears into her business, she is very proud to ensure that every event hosted here is done flawlessly!
